Wiktoria Jurkiewicz

Wiktoria Jurkiewicz is a soprano in her final year of a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice and Oboe at the University of Alberta. She studies voice with the highly regarded John Tessier and is celebrated for her versatility as both a vocalist and instrumentalist. Wiktoria’s passion for music began at Victoria School of the Arts, where she participated in concert choir, concert band, jazz choir, and jazz band, while also appearing in numerous honour choirs and honour bands.

In 2025, she performed the role of Lady Billows in the University of Alberta Opera Theatre’s production of Albert Herring by Benjamin Britten, and performed Haydn’s concert aria Scena di Berenice as a soloist with the University Symphony Orchestra. Additional operatic experience includes Second Lady in scenes from Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, presented in collaboration with the University Symphony Orchestra and Opera Theatre. During Edmonton Opera’s 2024-2025 season, she sang in the core chorus and greatly enjoyed her time on stage in the company’s production of Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss II.

Wiktoria has received several awards throughout her studies. Most recently, she was the third-place winner of the inaugural University of Alberta Anne Burrows Music Foundation Competition, and was also the recipient of the Vienna Opera Ball Society Scholarship.

Alongside her vocal studies, Wiktoria is an accomplished oboist, having served as section leader and performed with ensembles including the University Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Edmonton Youth Orchestra, University of Alberta Marching Band, and River City Chamber Orchestra.
