Ariane Cossette
Canadian soprano Ariane Cossette is a recent graduate of the prestigious Canadian Opera Company Ensemble Studio and is praised for her powerful voice and dramatic interpretations. She has received support from renowned foundations such as the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council, the Art Song Foundation of Canada and the Fondation Jacqueline Desmarais
In 2023, she won second prize at the Louis and Christina Quilico Awards and first prize at the National Capital Opera Competition in Ottawa. She has performed across Canada, the United States, Germany, United Kingdom, Italy and France.
In November 2024, she made a praised debut as Marguerite in a new production of Faust with the Canadian Opera Company. Her COC roles also include Norina in Don Pasquale, Pepik and the Woodpecker in The Cunning Little Vixen, Frasquita in Carmen.
An alumna of the Internationale Meistersinger Akademie 2024 in Germany and the Merola Opera Program 2025 in San Francisco, Ariane was a semifinalist at the 2025 Concours musical international de Montréal, where she won the prize for best Canadian artist and the Prix de l'Observatoire québécois d'art lyrique. In 2026, she was a finalist at the Elizabeth Connell Competition in the United Kingdom, joined the cast of 10 Days in a Madhouse, co-presented by Tapestry Opera and the Canadian Opera Company, and sang Mimì in La Bohème with Brott Opera. This November, she is reprising the role with Toronto City Opera. She is elated to make her Edmonton debut at the Rumbold Vocal Prize.
