A young prince is sent into the unknown with only a flute and a promise. In The Magic Flute, Tamino’s quest to rescue Pamina draws him into a world where nothing is quite as it seems.

Guided by music and accompanied by the irrepressible Papageno, he must face trials that test character, compassion, and trust.

Mozart’s luminous score moves effortlessly between humour and beauty, intimacy and grandeur. Part fairy tale, part adventure, this classic story unfolds in a world where darkness and light exist side by side, and music shapes the journey at every turn.

The Magic Flute returns to the Jubilee stage as a brand new production, accompanied by the full sound of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. An opera that draws audiences into its own world, where music, imagination, and storytelling lead the way.
