YEAR-END PIANO CAMPAIGN

HELP EDMONTON OPERA STRIKE A CHORD WITH OUR COMMUNITY

EVERY DONATION Will be MATCHED BY ALBERTA CULTURE & TOURISM

Edmonton Opera is raising funds to purchase a Petrof grand piano for the Opera Centre.

For over 50 years, Edmonton Opera has been the city’s resident opera company, bringing incredible talent and high quality productions to the stage. Our goal is to celebrate the magic of live performance and create shared experiences that resonate beyond the final note.

Edmonton Opera connects with the community by nurturing local artists and inspiring the next generation of arts enthusiasts.

At Edmonton Opera, the core of every production we present on stage is music. From the very first day of rehearsals, artists need to hear precise musical cues to sing their demanding roles. This is where an excellent piano becomes the most integral part of our process — in the absence of a full orchestra, the mighty piano provides singers the necessary accompaniment during rehearsals.

As a non-profit arts organization, we rely on generous contributions from the community to enable every aspect of our operations. We invite you to support Edmonton Opera’s purchase of a Petrof grand piano. Together we can help ensure that music continues to enrich the lives of Edmontonians!

Did you know?

  • During rehearsals a piano replaces a full orchestra. A pianist is tasked with playing a condensed version of the score and following the Conductor’s lead.
  • Edmonton Opera shares its facility with other community arts groups that will also benefit from the new piano.
