Like every young couple, Figaro and Susanna had dreamed of their perfect wedding day. But their plans are thrown into chaos when Figaro’s boss, the Count, sets his sights on Susanna. Mozart’s upstairs-downstairs comedy is complete with mistaken identities, swinging spouses, and some of the most recognizable music ever written!

Born in Salzburg in 1756, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed over 600 works of music, including 22 operas. Other famous operas include The Magic Flute, Don Giovanni, Così fan tutte, La clemenza di Tito, Idomeneo, and The Abduction from the Seraglio.

DREAM TEAM

The Italian libretto was written by Lorenzo Da Ponte — who also famously collaborated with Mozart on Don Giovanni and Così fan tutte.

The opera is based on the second play of Pierre Beaumarchais’ Figaro Trilogy. Gioachino Rossini’s iconic The Barber of Seville was adapted from the first play and features the same beloved characters.
