The Edmonton Opera's 2014/15 annual general meeting will be held at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, in the lobby of the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium (11455 87 Ave.). Members — those who purchased a full subscription for the 2014/15 and/or 2015/16 seasons, patrons who donated $200 or more to the Edmonton Opera since January 2015, or those made a voting member by a majority vote of the board of directors — are eligible to vote during the AGM.
Before the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra take to the stage for Symphony in the City, come down to Churchill Square and enjoy short performances from tenor Andrea Pinna, accompanied by pianist Leanne Regehr. Performances are at 5 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.; the ESO performance of Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 begins at 7 p.m. There is free admission to the entire event.
Join us at the Epcor Tower, south parking lot, at noon and 2 p.m. on Sept. 26 for operatic performances by tenor Andrea Pinna, accompanied by pianist Leanne Regehr. Activities will be ongoing from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with Citie Ballet, iHuman, the University of Alberta, Alberta Aboriginal Arts, balloon art, facepainting, and prizes and giveaways. There is free parking in the Epcor Tower parkade. Please bring a donation for the Edmonton Food Bank.
Edmonton Opera's scavenger hunt team has a #licensetotrill — two EO chorus sopranos, a mezzo-soprano and a photographer are competing in Northern Light Theatre's Battle for the Limelight on Aug. 29. Each Edmonton theatre team is raising funds for their own company, and in the case of #licensetotrill, monies raised will support chorus outreach initiatives.
Join Edmonton Opera for a day of performances and workshops at Kingsway Mall, celebrating Alberta Culture Days. Beginning at noon, there will be a performance by tenor Andrea Pinna, followed by a dance workshop led by Merry Widow choreographer Dave Ganert at 1 p.m. Another performance, this time by the Edmonton Opera Chorus and led by Merry Widow conductor and chorusmaster Peter Dala, will be at 2 p.m., followed by a second dance workshop at 3 p.m.

As part of Southgate Mall's Vive la France event, a live vocal performance by Edmonton Opera Chorus members will be performed at Centre Court in Southgate Mall at noon on Sept. 4. There will also be models of Parisian landmarks built. It's also a perfect way to get excited about our upcoming production of The Merry Widow, which takes place during the Belle Époque in Paris!
Featuring the cast of Maria Stuarda, this brunch will be held at the Royal Glenora Club.
