Alberta-born soprano Laura Whalen (last seen as Filumena) takes on the tragic role of Violetta, the courtesan who loses everything in her love for Alfredo (Québecois star Marc Hervieux). Edmonton Opera is delighted to welcome back Edmonton favourite Theodore Baerg in the role of Germont, in a production staged by our former Artistic Director, Michael Cavanagh. Steven Osgood, who last joined us for Bluebeard's Castle/ Erwartung, takes up the baton in this, our final offering of the season.
