DIY Opera

Edmonton Opera’s 50th anniversary season will be a year to remember with the launch of a new and exciting addition to our Opera Alive Education Program: DIY Opera!

Do-it-Yourself Opera will provide resources for your school to participate in the making of a new opera. Through workshops with members of our artistic, production and creative teams we will provide guidance throughout the 2013 school year with the goal of presenting the opera in 2014. The program will allow students to explore the various elements of opera including libretto writing, composition, production, performing and more. Working closely with your teachers, we will tailor the program to fit your students’ needs.

Thank you to all the schools who submitted an application to be a part of our 2013/14 DIY Opera program. We will announce the chosen school in June, and look forward to working with the students next year!
