Sandra GajicSandra Gajic recently assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer, Edmonton Opera. She is responsible for leading Edmonton Opera to sustainable artistic growth while also increasing the company’s significance and stature -- regionally, nationally and internationally.

Sandra’s vision will help drive Edmonton Opera to deliver a world-class Opera experience and inspire Edmonton audiences to become an integral part of that journey.

Ms. Gajic most recently held senior leadership positions at the EPCOR Centre for the Performing Arts in Calgary and the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto. She arrives with a wide range of experience and a strong track record in fiscally responsible management; innovative strategic planning; resource development; governance, as well as expertise in delivering capital projects in the cultural sector.  She is known for building strong partnerships with all three levels of government, the corporate sector and the community at large including other arts organizations.

Sandra has degrees in Economics (including a MBA) and Music. Sandra is a piano player, poet, and painter and she loves to travel. She lives in Edmonton.

Edmonton Opera partners with Alberta Craft Council for unique project

Local craft artists are making it possible for opera patrons to take home memories of the 2012/2013 season mainstage performances, thanks to the partnership between the Edmonton Opera and the Alberta Craft Council.

After a successful Opera Coat Project a few years ago, the Edmonton Opera and the Alberta Craft Council have partnered again for the Opera Art Project, where artists will create opera‐specific pieces as it relates to their medium.

Edmonton Opera Outreach Visits Fort McMurray

In the past year Edmonton Opera’s Education & Outreach Program has grown quickly and touched thousands of students in Edmonton and surrounding areas. Last weekend the program expanded even further with its first visit to Fort McMurray. The Education team and four Edmonton Opera artists traveled north Saturday, June 2nd to deliver a student master class and an evening performance at the Suncor Energy Centre for the Performing Arts.


Beethoven brings it all – love, heroism, passion and marvelous music.  Performed for the very first time in Alberta, this opera is a new production, including sets and costumes.
