Media are invited to attend the Canadian Heritage funding announcement on Friday, March 1, at 1 p.m., at Edmonton Opera’s production facility (15230-128 Ave.).

Minister Rona Ambrose (Edmonton-Spruce Grove) will make the announcement, which is the result of a grant application by the Edmonton Opera to the Ministry of Canadian Heritage’s Cultural Spaces program. The funds will be applied to the opera’s production facility, which became operational over the summer and consolidated smaller warehouse spaces into one 22,500-sq.-ft space, with adequate storage and set and costume build space.

All three levels of government have shown their support for this facility, led by the City of Edmonton, followed by the Province of Alberta and now the Government of Canada.

For interview availabilities and to confirm attendance, please contact Jelena Bojic, director of community relations, at jelena.bojic@edmontonopera.com or 780-392-7837.
