Tom at the Farm (in French with English subtitles)

Tom, a young ad copywriter from Montreal, heads to a remote farm in Quebec to visit the family of his recently deceased boyfriend Guillaume. But when he gets there, Tom realizes no one has heard of their relationship except Guillaume's brother Francis, who violently threatens him to keep things quiet. Soon, Tom becomes attached to life on the farm and grows dangerously close to Francis, realizing he might never leave. Based on a play by Michel Marc Bouchard, this Hitchcockian psychosexual drama is stylishly directed by Canadian prodigy Xavier Dolán.

Lilies (English)

Bishop Bilodeau visits a prison to supposedly hear the confession of his old classmate Simon, who has been an imate there for 40 years. When he arrives, however, Simon and his fellow prisoners have something else in store — they put on a play depicting the events leading up to Simon's incarceration and force the Bishop to watch. Why? Because the Bishop's younger self was solely responsible for Simon's arrest. Based on the play Les Feluettes by Michel Marc Bouchard, Genie Award-winning Lilies depicts the tragic consequences of repressed love in a hostile society.

Free admission, please RSVP on Eventbrite.
